On Day, One Night at a Time

When you support The Gathering Place, you ensure that every woman has a place to go, even when her world is falling apart. The Gathering Place is 95% privately funded, meaning we rely on the involvement and commitment of concerned community members to keep our doors open.

As the only daytime drop-in center for women and children in Denver, The Gathering Place could be the one place where a woman finds the resources that help her rebuild her life. Every day we provide resources and services to approximately 270 women and children. Your gift will directly and immediately make a difference for these individuals.

Ways to Give

ONLINE DONATIONS
For online donations, we have partnered with Colorado Gives, a program of the Community First Foundation. By donating through their secure website, 100% of your gift goes directly to The Gathering Place, with no credit card processing fees deducted. » Make an online donation through ColoradoGives.org now

IN-KIND DONATIONS
Due to some storage challenges and safety concerns, we have made a few changes to our donation acceptance policy. As of March 15, 2012, we are only able to accept new, unexpired food; new, unopened toiletries; and new socks and underwear onsite at The Gathering Place. For the Family Area, this means that new, unexpired baby food and formula; new, unopened packages of diapers and wipes; and new, unopened bottles of baby lotion, wash, powder, and diaper rash ointment will be accepted.

You can still donate clothes to The Gathering Place through Heritage Cleaners (locations). However, the clothes must be clean and on hangers, and there is a limit of 20 items per person at a time that can be donated. We are also working on partnerships with USAgain and ARC Thrift Stores and hope to be able to provide more information about those collaborations in the near future.

You can also donate items we are unable to accept—furniture, books, toys, home décor, linens, blankets, sports items, garage items, and more—to arc Thrift Stores on behalf of The Gathering Place. For these donations, arc Thrift Stores will provide vouchers to The Gathering Place to distribute to our members to shop for the specific items they need. Please check the arc Thrift Store website for information on items they are able to accept, the different ways you can donate, and store locations.

STOCK, REAL ESTATE, OR OTHER ASSETS
Making a gift of stock, real estate, or other assets that have appreciated in value and that you have owned for more than a year can result in significant tax savings for you. For more information on how to make a special gift to The Gathering Place, contact Brenda Roush at brenda@tgpdenver.org or 303-996-9027.

PLANNED GIVING
Planned gifts are an excellent way to make a lasting impact on a nonprofit organization. The right planned giving option can also allow you to reduce your estate and income taxes and maximize the financial and tax benefits of your gift. There are numerous ways you can make a planned gift: in your will, from your IRA account, by establishing an endowment, or by leveraging a gift through life insurance. Your gift may be unrestricted or designated and you may make your gift in your own name, or you may memorialize a loved one with your contribution. For more information about planned giving, please ask your estate planner or attorney to contact Lisa Zavoda at lisa@tgpdenver.org or 303-996-9061.

USED VEHICLES
If you have a car, truck, van, RV, motorcycle, or boat that you would like to get rid of, consider donating it to The Gathering Place through Vehicles for Charity, a nonprofit organization that will sell your vehicle and return the proceeds to us. VFC will handle all aspects of the donation for you, including pick up and transportation of the vehicle. For more information, contact Vehicles for Charity at info@vehiclesforcharity.org or 866-628-2277.
